Dearest Friends and Supporters,
I hope this letter reaches everyone in the very best of health and most joyous holiday season spirits. You all are always in daily thoughts, heart and prayers throughout this fight for justice. First of all, I want to inform everyone that I'm in good health. I'm mentally and spiritually as strong as ever despite the overwhelmingly challenges that I've faced throughout 2022. God is good all the time! My faith remains strong!
Unfortunately, due to a different company (Securus) taking over our prison tablets and their confusing instructions on how to create a new securus account so we can continue to exchange emails with family, friends and supporters, I haven't been able to exchange emails with many of you over the last couple of months. To simplify their confusing instructions let me explain the process.
You have to create a new securus account in order to receive my emails. Your jpay and securus account passwords have to match. In other words when you set up your securus account use the same jpay password. You will need an American address to give them and an American phone number. Any American address will do, even one from a hotel. You can get an American phone number by going to a App called 'TextNow'. When you go to securus to set up your securus account follow these instructions: (1) Hit Option 3 for Tablet. (2) Hit Option 3 again. (3) Hit Option 3 again. Then hit Option 1 for additional question. Your Securus email and password has to be the same as your jpay one. Then download Securus App. Then answer the securus questions. Then sign in with email and password. Then click on emessaging and then hit launch. Then you and I will be able to exchange emails again.
Now regarding legal news, unfortunately the Middle District Federal Judge didn't do a thorough and honest reading of the records and simply adopted the State attorney's perspectives and conclusions, then denied my Habeas Petition. My initial reaction was shock. However, as I begin to actually read his opinion and the reasons he denied my claims my shock turned to anger because he basically repeated the same lies written in the State attorney's Responses. My attorney recognized the same thing as I did when he read the opinion. The positive side to this is that we can appeal the Federal Judge's ruling to the three panel Judges at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and refer them to what the records/testimonies/documents actually say! However, my attorney and I will not be alone appealing to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals thanks to my friend and supporter, Kristine. She came to America and spent weeks and countless hours convincing the Federal Capital Habeas Unit (CHU) in Tampa, Florida to become co-counselor to assist my current attorney with the case. CHU is an elite federal attorney unit that specializes in federal appeals. To God be the glory they agreed to take my case for FREE! The Court has already granted their motion to represent me as co-counselor. I've already met with the Supervisor and a Federal Attorney and we had a good and positive meeting. I will have two experienced Federal Attorneys, two experienced federal investigators assigned to my case to assist my current attorney. So, I will be working with these lawyers for the next couple of months. I will let everyone know the date the appeal is due when a due date is set. The Supervisor told me that all of the Federal lawyers at CHU was asking to be assigned to my case because they were all aware of it and they said it is a winnable case.
